MyGymRoutine is made by Drawbridges, in the United Kingdom. This page says what the app stores, where it goes, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

Your training data never leaves your phone. There is no account, no sign-up, and no server of ours for it to go to. We cannot see your workouts, because there is nowhere for us to see them from.

What the app stores

Everything below is stored on your device:

  • Your workouts — sessions, exercises, sets, reps, loads, rest, notes.
  • Body measurements, if you record them.
  • Injury and niggle notes, if you write them.
  • Journal entries, if you write them.
  • Your name, if you give it. Optional, asked once on a screen you can skip, used to say hello on the home screen and read by nothing else.
  • Preferences — kilograms or pounds, which body outline draws your muscle map, whether rest starts automatically.

Workout and body data is health data, which UK law treats as a special category and protects more strictly. We treat it that way: it stays on your device.

What the app does not collect

No account. No email address. No location. No contacts. No advertising identifier. No analytics of what you do in the app. No third-party trackers. No advertising, ever.

We receive the same anonymous, aggregate crash and usage counts Apple gives every developer. Those contain no workout content and cannot identify you.

Apple Health

If you allow it, the app can read from and write to Apple Health. That data stays in Apple’s Health store on your device, under your own Apple account, and is used only to show and record your training. It is never used for advertising, profiling, or sold or shared with anyone.

You can withdraw permission at any time in the Health app, and the app keeps working.

Permissions

The app asks for a permission only at the moment it needs one, and explains what it is for. Nothing is requested when you first open it. Declining anything leaves the rest of the app working.

What you can do

Because your data is on your device, you are not asking us for permission:

  • See it — every record is there in front of you.
  • Correct it — edit or delete any session, set, or entry, immediately and permanently.
  • Erase it — deleting the app removes everything it ever stored. There is no copy anywhere else, because there is nowhere else.
  • Take it with you — a file export is coming in a future update. It is not in the app today, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.

Under UK GDPR these are your rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability. They are unusual here in one respect: we hold none of your data, so there is nothing for us to hand over or delete. Everything is on your device, under your control, and uninstalling takes it all with it. That is also why there is no request form — there is nothing we could look up even if you asked.

Who we are, legally

Drawbridges is the controller for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. There is no processor: Apple’s Health store runs under your Apple account, not under a contract with us. There is no third party we share data with, because there is no data leaving your device to share.

If that ever changes — for example if optional sync between your own devices is added — this page will be updated before the feature ships, and any such feature will be opt-in and off by default.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects nothing that would identify anyone.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in.
